IMO, I think that the two-year-old is looking at a different direction. The pix elation of what we think is an apparition or a ghost is a light reflection source. As the child is moving about, the child blocks the light, creating a shadow.

IMO, this appears to be a CGI. It does make appear to be a creepy scene. I have seen where artist can recreate this in 3D world engines on any film images or videos.
